He began to pursue the cause
of nature protection early in the 1980s. He is one of pioneers
to establish China Elk Foundation and China Biodiversity Conservation
Foundation.

Jianmin
ª¥Born in 1929, formerly the vice mayor
of Beijing People Government, the chairman of Beijing People's
Congress, the chairman of China Elk Foundation and China Biodiversity
Conservation Foundation. Now is honorary chairman of China
Biodiversity Conservation Foundation.
ª¥He engaged in the campaign to protect
elk early in the 1980s, and ordered a wetland with a area
of 960 ha in the southern suburb of Beijing, to establish
Beijing Elk Ecology Research Center, now Beijing Elk Garden.
In order to establish a national elk nature reserve in Shishou,
Hubei Province, he contributed elks. He is one of pioneers
to establish China Biodiversity Conservation Foundation.

Liu
Shu
ª¥Research professor, the honorary
chairman of council of China Biodiversity Conservation Foundation.
Born in
1935 in Shengyang, Liaoning Province. She graduated from Leningrad
Forestry Engineering College in U.S.S.R. in 1960. She engaged
in the research work in Controlling Desert Team, Geography
Institute, Lanzhou Desert Institute of Chinese Academy of
Sciences, during the period of 1960-1983, successively. She
was elected as vice nomarch of Gansu @rovince during 1983-1989.
After June,1989, she was transferred into China Association
for Science and Technology, occupied as primary secretary
of secretary committee, standing membership in Committee of
Chinese Communist Party, vice chairman, early or later. Was
membership of the 8th and 9th National Committee, Chinese
People's Political Consultative Conference. Now is vice standing
chairman of Sino-Russian Friendship Association, vice chairman
of council of China Environmental Protection Foundation, chairman
of China Association of Children's Science Instructors, chairman
of China Association for Science and Technology Newspaper.
She is one of
initial and senior researchers in the field of desertification
and its controlling, and was employed as professor by many
domestic universities or colleges, as senior advisor of Environment
Plan Commission of U. N. Recent years, she has contributed
into the development of emerging sand industry.

Hu
Zhaoguang
ª¥Graduated from Tsinghua University
in 1964, attended in advanced management studies in Sweden.
Now is part-time professor and advanced engineer in Tsinghua
University, chairman of CBCF, vice chairman of China Association
for Aged Professors, membership of Beijing People Congress.
Was formerly vice mayor of Beijing People Government, chairman
of Beijing Holding Company Group. For a long time, he has
supported the cause of biodiversity conservation, especially
in the period of in his position of vice mayor of Beijing.
Now, he still contributes himself to the biodiversity conservation
and CBCF. |

Jin
Jianming
ª¥The vice standing chairman and director of expert committee
of CBCF.
Born on January 23,
1932, Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, graduated from Fudan University
in Shanghai in 1955. He was conferred biology PhD from Leningrad
University of U.S.S.R. in 1960. He had been general engineer
and vice director of National Environmental Protection Administration
(NEPA) from the 1980s to 1990s. Now is professor engineer,
advisor for Ph.D student, and vice-director of Advisor Committee
of NEPA, vice chairman of National Committee, China Man and
Biosphere Plan, vice chairman of Chinese Ecological Economics
Society.
He has made great contributions
to and creative achievements in dhe field of environmental
engineering. He was rewarded the honorary title and warrant
of The Scientist Who Made Distinguished Contributions to
Science & Technology by State Council, the award of
Distinguished Contributor to Science & Technology Progress
in the 7th National Five-years Plan, the award of Science
& Technology Progress by Heliang-Heli Foundation, Environmental
Jinniu Award, The Tiptop Award in International Cooperation,
and many other national or ministerial awards, excellent book
awards.
He has published more
than 10 works and 90 essays in home and abroad.
In 1997, he was elected
as Academician of Chinese Engineering Academy.

Changdu
ª¥The standing director of
CBCF, vice director of Expert Committee of CBCF, professor
in Peking University.
Born in 1927 in Xinning
County, Hunan Province, graduated from Tsinghua University
in the early 1950s, graduator of Botany Institute, Chinese
Academy of Sciences, attended in advanced geography flora
studies in Leningrad University of U.S.S.R. in two years
and was a advanced scholar visitor for desert vegetation
in Arizona State University in half year.
He
has been a teacher in Peking University since 1953. He has
published more than 90 scholar essays, 50 other essays, and
6 monographs with cooperators, 1 teaching book for university.
The formerly chairman of China Ecology Society, the scholar
advisor of NEPA, now is the expert advisor in landscape and
view of National Construction Ministry, membership of Experts
Advising Committee of National Forestry Administration, advisor
of Scenery Park Committee of Beijing Landscape Architecture
Society. He mainly contributes to the research in ecology,
micro-ecology, biodiversity conservation and the development
of nature reserves in China. He is the primary writer of three
national outline documents: Guideline for Chinese Nature
Reserve, Chinese Action Plan for Biodiversity Conservation,
and National Report on China Biological Diversity.

Monitoring Center. Now is committeeman of Data Managing Committee,
Chinese Ecosystem Research Net, standing director of China
Wildlife Protection Association, director of China Sand Control
and Industry Society, vice chairman of China Wild Plant Utilization
Association, vice chairman of China Wild-plant Protection
Association, advisor for Ph.D student and part-time professor
in Wuhan University, Beijing Forestry University, Northeast
Forestry University. Has published more than 40 scholar essays.

Hunan Province. Graduated from Horticulture Department of
Zhejiang Agricultural University. Formerly the director of
Jiangsu Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences from
1983 to 1998. Now is vice chairman of International Association
for Arboretum, committeeman of Endangered Species Conservation
Committee, IUCN, honorary director of Arboretum Committee,
CAS, editor-in-chief of Journal of Pant Resource and Environment.
He began the research of plant introduction and domestication,
fruit tree very early. He has published 6 monographs, 170
scholar essays.

committee of China Flora, standing committeeman of Acta Phytotaxonomica
Sinica, vice director of Weed Committee of Beijing Pesticide
Society. Beijing Flora, edited chiefly by him, was rewarded

technology book. He also compiled Botany for the teaching

of Hebei Flora, Beijing Flora Directory, Northern China Seed

Huiqing
ª¥Born in Jilin, Jilin Province in 1928,
graduated from Northeast Normal University in 1951, began
the wetland research in 1958. She has surveyed the wetland
resources of China through the country. Her works mainly include
of Chia Fens, The Identification and Utilization of Turves,
China Wetland Vegetation, all are the first works published
about wetland research in home.
Formerly the director of
Wetland Survey Center, National Education Ministry, committeeman
in the Assessment Committee for National Nature Reserve,
Was rewarded The Award of National
Science Congress, The Award of Science & Technology Progress,
and Science Award, of National Education Ministry. Was rewarded
as Excellent Person in Nature Reserve Research by SEPA,
et al. in 1999, was rewarded the 7th Earth Award. |

with Plant Ecology, Plant Ecophysiology.
Was rewarded the First-class Award by SEPA
for the Project of Sino-British Collaborate Research on Ecology
and Environment Planning of Chengde City (1993, chief participator).
Published three books related with plant ecology.
